„Ich bin vor anderthalb Jahren aus den Niederlanden nach Leipzig gezogen – eine wunderschöne Stadt mit relaxten Leuten und viel Kunst! Straßenmusik mache ich noch gar nicht so lange – eigentlich bin ich Maler. Aber von so einem Instrument, einem Hang, habe ich schon immer geträumt. Vor einem halben Jahr hatte ich dann endlich genug gespart, um nach Frankreich zu fahren und mir selbst eines zu kaufen!“

Inzwischen haben sie schon eine richtige Geschichte: Letztes Jahr in Palermo zum Beispiel, während des bisher mit schönsten Urlaubs meines Lebens, bin ich damit betrunken heimgelaufen, in ein Schlagloch getreten und umgekippt. Dabei ist die komplette Innenseite gerissen. Die musste ein Schuster dann erst einmal aufwendig wieder in Ordnung bringen.“

“I bought these shoes in London three years ago. Already second ’hand’ back then, by now, they’ve got a real story to tell: last year in Palermo for example, during one of my greatest-ever holidays, I drunkenly attempted to walk home wearing them, stepped into a pothole and fell over. Their whole interior got torn apart, and a shoemaker put great effort into patching them later.”

„Manchmal mache ich mich mit dem Board nach ein paar Bieren auf den Heimweg und will beim Fahren natürlich noch unbedingt meine Musik umstellen – am besten kurz vor den nächsten Bahnschienen! Aber was Schlimmes ist mir damit noch nie passiert.“

“Sometimes, I head home on my board after a few beers and just by all means HAVE to switch my music on the way – preferably right before the next tram tracks, of course! But so far, nothing really bad has ever happened to me.”

„Ehrlich gesagt, ich wohne eigentlich gar nicht in Leipzig. Ist das trotzdem o.k.?“

“To be honest, I don’t actually live in Leipzig. Is that o.k. anyway?”

„Menschen kommen zu uns, weil sie Schutz vor dem Krieg und Terror in ihren Heimatländern suchen – und hier zünden Leute ihre Unterkünfte an? Im Grunde ist es doch so: Wo sie herkommen, ob sie schwarz oder weiß sind, welche Sprache sie sprechen, das spielt doch alles keine Rolle. Es sind alles auch nur Menschen – genau wie Sie und ich.“
